35: Originator (fatir)

These forty-five verses are arranged in five sections; they were revealed after The Standard 25 and before Mary 19. The chapter bears two titles originator. as well as The Angels; both words appear in verse 1. It is a late Meccan revelation.

This chapter contains a statement concerning the futility of intercession (III), as well as comfort for the Prophet in his role as a warner. "Fresh and Salt Water" (or The Two Seas ") is a parable also set in this chapter (II).
